Alex Class of 2018 | Cincinnati Senior Photography

Alex is the last of the three Detcher children to get their senior pictures taken by me. I also used to change his diapers, so yeah I’m old and embarrassing. I love this family so much and I’m honored that they have trusted me for the last several years to capture this momentous time in each of their children’s lives. Praying for all of you as you transition to adulthood and empty nest-hood. Love you!

Grace Class of 2018 | Cincinnati Senior Photography

Grace Kennedy, Gracie Lu Who, Bagel Belly… my baby niece is a senior. I have loved this girl her whole life. Gracie is one of the funniest, and most caring humans I know. She feels deeply and loves fiercely. She’s 17 and still sits on her dads lap, still wraps her arms around her momma, and holds her friend’s hand as they walk down the street. Her intense love isn’t limited to people though, she’s also very smart and hopes to start veterinary school next year. I’m super proud of her but also feeling older today than usual. Stop growing up, Lu. Your momma and I will just be at home crying today if you need us.

ALSO… HELLO ISNT SHE STUNNING!?!

Grace + Hannah | Cincinnati Senior Photographer

My niece Grace and her friend Hannah are my 2018 Senior Ambassadors. We went exploring up at Houston Woods and OH MY GOODNESS everything was so perfect. The light, the beach, the “BOATS, BOATS, BOATS”. These ladies are both absolute beauties inside and out. I’m praying for you both, that you have an amazing senior year and God shows you what your next step is. I can’t wait to see His big plan for both of your lives.

What to Wear Guide | Cincinnati Photographer

I get asked all the time from my wonderful clients how they should dress. So, I decided to put together this little guide along with some examples that will hopefully help ease your stress about the details of your upcoming session. Feel free to e-mail me if you still have questions or want to send along outfit options for my opinion.

Avoid: Matching. The whole white shirt and khakis thing is so 1994.

Instead: Try coordinating! Pick a few colors or even a whole pallet of coordinating colors and fill in the rest with neutrals. Think Jewel tones or spring colors!

Avoid: Big clothing, especially for kids. Our tendency, as mothers, it to buy clothing a little big so it will fit longer.

Instead: Buy your kiddos clothes even a little smaller than you normally would so they don’t look baggy in your photographs.

Avoid: Lots of black or white. And neon. Just say no to neon!!

Instead
: Try something a little less extreme. Cream or navy are great options! Even better, add in a pop of color.

Avoid: Small patterns, especially pinstripes. They end up making your shirt look almost wavy.

Instead: Try plaids, florals, or animal prints.

Avoid: Solid, plain outfits.

Instead: Add layers and texture. Corduroy, flannel, lace, cable knit, and denim are fabulous examples of texture!

Avoid
: Panicking about outfit choices!!!

Instead: Let one person (AKA the outfit picker, herself) find something she feels beautiful in and then chose the other outfits from there.
